This song has been in the writing for a few years due to sensitive circumstances and I thought I'd write a pre-face to it for this reason. This track was originally written about a holiday spent in Saint-Béat, however as time has gone on I've realised that it's about much more than that. It's about celebrating life, about the connection between people and places and feeling content with what you have.
lyrics
Now there’s a place, that I could call home
Where I could live on, watch the world pass me by
Out in the distance, the trees, they wave in the light of the sun
I wish I could stay but, my journey has just begun
Here by the mountains, sheltered from it all
Timeless in beauty, through seasons and natures call
I will wait on, take it all in my stride
Someday I'll return, remember what peace feels like
Wind, quiet as the voice
Replaces the music of birds in my ear
Subtle changes it makes, in the wake of the memories we made along the way
Streams running clear, reflecting the faces of those I held dear,
Like life, waters run by, replacing our movements here year by year
Here by the mountains, sheltered from it all
Timeless in beauty, through seasons and natures call
I will wait on, take it all in my stride
Someday I'll return, remember what peace feels like
There was a place, that I thought was home
Where I would live on, watch the world pass me by
Out in the distance, my thoughts wonder out into the unknown
I wish I could stay but, my journey has just begun
