about
I bought a poem off a homeless person with all the money in my wallet... It wasn't much £2.40 and reading it made me realise just how bad it must be to watch people everyday who appear to have so much. There really aren't enough opportunities for homeless people.
What I did isn't going to make much of a difference but at least he can get some momentary relief.
The lyrics in this song come from the poem he sold to me. Only, adapted to share my sentiment and highlight the duality of being homeless and part of the working class. United in the search for greater social mobility.
To help (however small my contribution), I'm selling this track and all proceeds will go to a Manchester based homeless charity.
I hope you find your sense of freedom Sean. Thanks to you I keep on trying to attain mine!
lyrics
Freedom it's a state of mind
It's a hard place to find
I've searched high and low
With nowhere left to go
I'm living here
That's seems so clear
Sometimes in fear
Freedom.
It's hard to explain
What goes on in my brain
So I continue to seek
Whilst feeling so weak
Others are strong
It's not where I belong
I long to be free
But thanks for thinking of me
Thank's for thinking of me
Freedom it's a state of mind
It's a hard place to find
I've searched high and low
With nowhere left to go
